FTF Hardcore

About

A different kind of hardcore experience

Every choice matters.
Every life counts.

FTF Hardcore is a survival world built around consequence, identity and stories that continue after death. It combines meaningful hardcore progression, player-created societies, visible territory and controlled raiding into one connected experience.

FTF
Hardcore should not simply end.
It should mean something.

Death System

Death changes your story before it ends it.

FTF Hardcore uses a three-life journey. Early deaths bring lasting afflictions and consequences. A later death leaves you dependent on revival. Reach the end of the road and death becomes permanent.

  • Death afflictions alter how you survive.
  • Graves and revival create player-driven second chances.
  • The Torch of Souls offers an exceptionally rare path to redemption.

Unity

Your group is defined by its people, not a preset label.

Create a faction, town, kingdom, guild, clan or something entirely your own. Every Unity uses the same powerful foundation while keeping its own identity, purpose and place in the world.

  • Custom roles and permissions.
  • Allies, enemies and player-driven diplomacy.
  • Shared territory without removing private ownership.

Land & Raiding

Defend what you build without making conflict meaningless.

Protection Cores anchor territory. Land Relics expand it, while Fortification Relics strengthen placed blocks through ten upgrade levels. Raids focus on breaching defenses rather than deleting entire builds.

  • Ancestral TNT creates controlled breaches.
  • Ancestral Fireballs pressure exposed interiors.
  • Strategy wins; total wipes are not the goal.

The Ancestral Realm

A second world tied directly to survival, trade and death.

Ancient Ancestors dwell beyond the portal. The Banker mints Shillings, the Trader rotates powerful relics, and the Builder takes specialized orders for tools used in warfare and progression.

  • Shillings form the Ancestors' economy.
  • Rare relics create long-term goals.
  • The realm connects lore with practical gameplay.

Custom Menus

Complex systems, presented clearly.

FTF's menus keep important information in one place. Manage your Unity, claims, cosmetics, nickname and chat styling, animals and permitted riders without memorizing a wall of commands.

  • Unity management and claim overviews.
  • Cosmetics, trails and player styling.
  • Animal ownership and rider permissions.

Travel & Roads

Movement should create infrastructure, not erase distance.

Elytra remain useful for short flights and escaping danger, but no longer replace the world beneath them. Ancestral Path Blocks reward players who build roads, merchant routes and connected territory.

  • Speed boosts for players travelling on paths.
  • Stronger boosts for rideable animals.
  • Roads become visible signs of civilization.

Ender Vault

Your Ender Vault is a lifeline, not a warehouse.

The Ender Chest has been reworked into nine strategic slots. Shulker Boxes, Bundles and Shillings cannot be hidden inside it, so every protected item is a deliberate choice.

  • Only nine slots are available.
  • No nested storage or currency hiding.
  • Risk versus reward remains part of every expedition.

Persistent World

Logging out does not make you disappear from the story.

Offline Sleepers remain in the world. Rest in the wilderness and an attack may be fatal; rest in protected territory and the Ancestors can intervene. Named rideable animals can also be claimed and managed through Animal Lock.

  • Offline location and protection matter.
  • Named animals have owners and managed riders.
  • The world keeps a visible memory of its players.
01

The beginning

Why I created FTF Hardcore

I was searching for a true hardcore experience—something intense, something meaningful. I found a server, joined... and died.

That was it. No story. No second chance. No reason to come back.

And that is when it hit me: hardcore should not just end—it should mean something.

So I built my own. Inspired by survival experiences such as The Long Dark, FTF Hardcore turns death into progression rather than a simple reset screen. Afflictions, revival and permanent consequences make every decision matter and every life feel earned.

Breaking the SMP formula

A world designed to be lived in—not hidden from.

The usual choice between total chaos and total protection never felt right. FTF is built around a controlled middle ground.

The familiar problem
  • Players hide underground indefinitely.
  • Rare items vanish into unlimited protected storage.
  • Groups avoid interaction because risk has no structure.
  • Raiding becomes either impossible or purely destructive.
The FTF approach
  • Visible, defendable bases with real presence.
  • Limited safe storage that keeps expeditions meaningful.
  • Player-created diplomacy, roads, trade and territory.
  • Strategic breaches without encouraging complete wipes.

Introducing Unity

Create the society you want to lead.

Instead of forcing every community into the same identity, /unity gives players a shared framework they can define for themselves. Build a faction, town, kingdom, guild, clan—or something nobody has named before.

You control roles, permissions, diplomacy, alliances and enemies. A Unity is not merely a party list; it becomes part of the history, politics and physical shape of the server.

Faction Town Kingdom Guild Clan Your idea

A world you can actually see

Presence creates stories.

FTF encourages players to leave something behind: a road, a fortress, a market, a border, a rivalry or a legacy.

01

Build visibly

Create real structures and territory that other players can discover, recognize and remember.

02

Own land your way

Use Protection Cores and Land Relics alone, with a Unity, or for private territory inside a larger community.

03

Defend strategically

Fortification and controlled raid tools create meaningful conflict without turning every defeat into a wipe.

The Ancestral Realm

Ancient systems given a face.

The Ancestors are more than shopkeepers. They connect the server's economy, progression, lore and warfare.

Currency

The Ancient Banker

Mints Shillings from valuable resources and manages the currency used throughout the Ancestors' economy.

1 Diamond + 2 Gold Ingots = 5 Shillings

Relics

The Trader

Offers a rotating relic economy where rare items, timing and preparation create powerful opportunities.

Stock changes. Opportunity does not wait.

Warfare

The Builder

Accepts specialized orders for Ancestral TNT and Fireballs. Powerful tools take time and planning to obtain.

Raiding begins before the first wall breaks.

Systems that support the world

Every mechanic has a purpose.

These systems are designed to reinforce risk, movement, ownership and interaction rather than exist as disconnected extras.

01

The Soul Eater

A dangerous overworld boss tracked with the Soul Eater Compass. Defeating it can award powerful relics and a rare chance at the Torch of Souls.

02

Ancestral Paths

Build roads that accelerate players and give rideable animals an even stronger travel boost.

03

Balanced Elytra

Elytra provide short flight and emergency escape without making roads, mounts and geography irrelevant.

04

Animal Lock

Name a rideable animal to claim it, protect it in secure territory and manage trusted riders through a menu.

05

Offline Sleepers

Your sleeping body remains in the world. Where you log out determines the danger and protection you receive.

06

Custom Menus

Unity management, claims, cosmetics, nickname styling, chat colour, animals and rider permissions are organized into clear interfaces that keep the experience approachable.

The goal

Your story starts here.

Build alone. Lead a kingdom. Hunt bosses. Raid enemies. Establish trade routes. Or survive quietly at the edge of the world.

Every choice matters. Every life counts. Every story is yours to create.
